We don't store your work on any servers. We literally can't access your screenplays.
No analytics, no user tracking, no behavior monitoring. Just write.
No signup, no login, no personal information collected. Ever.

CoffeeDraft is a client-side application. All your work is stored locally in your browser's localStorage.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, screenplay content, or usage data.
We have no user accounts, no databases, and no way to identify you.
Your screenplay content is saved to your browser's localStorage under these keys:
• coffeedraft_content — Your screenplay text
• coffeedraft_name — Your screenplay title
• coffeedraft_titlepage — Title page metadata (author, contact, etc.)
• coffeedraft_lastsaved — Timestamp of last save
This data exists only on your device, in your browser. It is not synced, uploaded, or backed up anywhere.
Your saved work is deleted when:
• You click 'Start Fresh' in the editor and confirm
• You clear your browser's cache, cookies, or site data
• You use the browser in Private/Incognito mode (deleted when window closes)
• You uninstall or reset your browser
We recommend downloading your screenplay as a .fountain file regularly to keep backups.
CoffeeDraft does not use cookies.
We use localStorage (not cookies) to save your work. localStorage is a browser feature that stores data locally on your device — it is not sent to any server with HTTP requests like cookies are.
CoffeeDraft is hosted on Netlify. Netlify may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, access times) for security and operational purposes. This is standard for any website you visit.
We do not use:
• Google Analytics or any analytics service
• Advertising networks
• Social media trackers
• Any third-party scripts that track you
Since we don't collect any data about you, there's nothing to:
• Request access to
• Ask us to delete
• Port to another service
Your data is already 100% in your control — it's on your computer, in your browser.
CoffeeDraft does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data, there are no special concerns regarding children's privacy.
If we ever change how CoffeeDraft handles data (for example, if we add optional cloud sync in the future), we will update this policy and make the changes clear.
Any new features that involve data collection will be optional and require explicit consent.
